For the first time, we're hearing the 911 call Derek Morgan made after he shot a Pryor teen pulling a prank.

In the call, he describes, in his own words, what led to the shooting.

Morgan, who is out on bond, tells the police dispatcher he needs police and medical help and then goes right into the story of what happened, from his perspective.

"Some kids are around the back of the house, I think trying to break in. Went around the back of the house - three of them were back there. They were around the back window. Fired a shot, hit one of them. One's laying in the street out here. Get an ambulance and police out here immediately," he says.

You can hear the Pryor Police dispatcher talk to other officers, then, Morgan yells a question to his dad, Gary.

An affidavit states Gary helped care for 14-year-old Cole Peyton after he had been shot.

"Hey Dad, they're on their way. Where's he hit," Morgan says on the phone call.

Then, you hear him talk, presumably, to Peyton.

"Lay down man,” he says. “Where you at? What the hell are you doing man? Just one?"

The dispatcher tells Morgan that officers and ambulances are on the way but first asks Morgan to ask the victim a few questions, like what’s his name.

What Morgan says on the call matches his statement to police. An affidavit states Morgan thought someone was breaking in then saw the boys in the backyard and told them not to move.

Morgan says one boy reached for something so he started firing, shooting Peyton in the back.

Later in the call, you hear Morgan talk about the encounter.

"I told him to stop," he said.

Police said there are two more unreleased 911 calls - one from Gary, and another from Peyton.

Peyton's mom said her son was first to call 911 because Morgan hesitated before calling the police.

Morgan faces a felony charge of assault and battery with a deadly weapon.

Peyton's gunshot wounds were life threatening and his family has set up a GoFundMe account to help pay medical bills.
