Former Muskogee County Jailer Arrested For Second-Degree Rape

A former Muskogee County jailer has been arrested for second-degree rape after investigators say he admitted to having sex with an inmate.

Sheriff Charles Pearson requested the OSBI investigate Harold Eugene Shinn after an allegation of an improper relationship between Shinn and a female inmate.

"An OSBI special agent and county investigator interviewed the victim and the suspect. Both had similar stories of the sexual encounter that happened in June 2015," a news release states.

Shinn, who was dismissed from his job in January, was arrested Tuesday morning at the Phoenix Apartments where he lives.
