OSBI Investigates Payne County Homicide

Agents with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations (OSBI) are looking into the death of a man in Ripley, Oklahoma.

According to the OSBI, just before 5 p.m. Thursday, a relative found Mario Dwight Smith, Sr., 45, dead inside his home in the 300 block of E. Main Street. Smith suffered trauma to the body consistent with homicide.

The medical examiner will perform an autopsy as OSBI agents and Payne County sheriff’s investigators collect information and evidence.

No arrests have been made, and no suspect description is available at this time.
