Former TU Running Back Wanted For Child Abuse Murder Arrested In Texas

Prosecutors charged a former TU running back with child abuse murder.

Sources say Tavarreon Dickerson is wanted in the death of a 7-week-old girl. They also say Dickerson was the father.

Police said the case was originally investigated as child abuse.

According to the University of Tulsa athletics page, Dickerson enrolled at the school in 2014 after transferring from Trinity Valley Community College.

He played in eight games in 2014, rushing for 132 yards on 34 carries.

The TU Athletic Department confirmed Dickerson left the program after the 2015 season.

A judge issued a warrant for his arrest Monday afternoon. Police said he was arrested a few hours later in Arlington, Texas.
