Police have identified Oklahoma City’s latest homicide victims.
According to Oklahoma City police, the first homicide over the weekend happened just after 10 p.m. Saturday near N.W. 2nd and Klein Ave. Police said two victims, 43-yer-old Charles Dale Martin and 36-year-old Ernest Norvale Bennett, were standing near N.W. 2nd and Klein when a vehicle drove past them. As the vehicle went by, at least one occupant of the vehicle opened fire on the two victims.
Both victims were hit by gunfire. Police said Martin was transported to an area hospital where he died. Bennett was taken to a hospital to be treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
Investigators have made no arrests in this case. No suspects have been identified. This is Oklahoma City’s 22nd homicide of 2016.
At about 4:40 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a shooting in the 900 block of S.W. 24th Street. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots in front of the home. A short time later, they found the victim, 22-year-old Cristian Estrada Tovar, dead in the front yard.
Investigators have made no arrests in this case, nor have they identified any suspects.
This is Oklahoma City’s 23rd homicide of 2016.
