Tulsa police say a utility worker was electrocuted Monday morning.

It happened at about 10:20 a.m. near 36th Street North and Lewis. Police say the man was a contractor for Public Service of Oklahoma and was finishing up a job.

One witness was in his front yard when it happened and said he saw the whole thing.

“An accident in an instant can change your life,” the witness said. “I’ve seen death before…but not like this.”

He said he heard a loud pop, and the next thing he knew, a man was dangling from a line.

The victim was a contract lineman for PSO, employed by Diversified Services. Police said the man was wearing full protective equipment and it’s unclear what went wrong.

The company said the incident is under review, but their first focus is on the victim's family and co-workers.

Some of the victim's family showed up to the worksite Monday and were understandably shaken.

“God bless the family. God bless the family,” the witness said.

The victim's name and age have not been released.
