Downtown Tulsa already has the Pearl District, Blue Dome District and the Brady Arts District. Now, it will be getting the Cathedral District.
This newest district will be dedicated to Tulsa's historic downtown churches. It is located on the south end of downtown Tulsa and the IDL.
It highlights six historic churches, that draw visitors in to the area.
The district also includes Tulsa Community College, businesses, restaurants and entertainment spots.
When you drive into downtown, or near it from the south, it's hard to miss the churches towering over the city.
We're told with an influx of renewed interest in restoration and development, district leaders and nearby businesses wanted to work together to enhance walkability, while inspiring growth to this part of downtown Tulsa.
Wednesday morning, district and city leaders will get together to officially launch the Cathedral District
