A group of Tulsa women are celebrating a new beginning.
The group of 24 graduated from the Women in Recovery program.
The program is an alternative to prison time that works with community partners to help women learn the skills they need to succeed.
One graduate says, “18 months ago, I didn’t have my children. I was looking at going back to prison again. No hope. Didn’t want to be here. Today, I have both my daughters. I have hope, a future…this program game me my life back.”
The program partnered with the Tulsa Artist Fellowship to help the women use art to heal through painting workshops and poetry.
This is the 23rd graduating class.
