An 18-year-old Sand Springs man was arrested on a first-degree rape complaint, accused of raping a juvenile girl he knows. Daniel Gregory Jones was booked into the Tulsa County Jail Wednesday, March 28.
Police say the minor girl told them it happened three times.
Officers interviewed the girl at the Children's Justice Center, and say she told them Jones assaulted her at her home on March 25 and two other times. She said he told her not to tell anyone but she told her mother because "I felt like if I told momma I wouldn't be scared anymore," an arrest report states.
Police interviewed Jones and said he admitted to touching the girl inappropriately and that she didn't want it to happen. The arrest report says he voluntarily gave them a DNA sample.
Sand Springs Police also say Jones wrote a voluntary statement that said in part he "did something I shouldn't have and now I'm paying for it...I'm sorry."
He is being held in on a $50,000 bond.
