State inspectors are at the Tulsa State Fair right now making their final ride inspections right now before the Fair opens Thursday.
The labor commissioner said they'll have 66 rides checked by the time the fair opens.
Inspectors are looking at every little thing from the bolts and screws to the restraint system.
Commissioner Melissa Houston said if a ride does not pass the inspection, no one will be allowed on it until the owners or vendors get everything up to code.
When the ride checks are done, inspectors put a sticker on it to show that it's safe for riders to board.
Oklahoma is one of 30 states that regulate safety for amusement rides.
You've probably seen or heard about incidents nationwide where people were hurt or killed when a ride malfunctioned.
Houston said she's kept up with those situations and the inspectors are working to make sure that does not happen here.
"We immediately circle back with our owners and vendors to see if we have those types of rides, what the problem is, what the investigation revealed and make sure our regulations are capturing whatever issue might be taking place," said Houston.
The commissioner said ride safety regulations have been updated in the last couple of years.
