Oral Roberts University announced it has purchased buildings and seven acres from from Victory Tulsa.
The property is on the southwest corner of 81st and Delaware.
In a news release, ORU says it will begin remodeling the main 100,000-square-foot building and the adjacent 14,000-square-foot warehouse immediately into a multi-purpose complex. The university says the building will house Nursing, Engineering, Health Sciences, Counseling Services, ORU’s Online operations team and the golf team. It expects to open the new facility later this year.
“With ten years of steady enrollment growth, the time is now for several of our colleges to expand,” said ORU President Dr. William M. Wilson. “This provides us the opportunity to grow the Anna Vaughn College of Nursing—ORU’s top-notch program that boasts a 100% job placement rate—as well as the School of Engineering, which recently advanced to the final rounds of a competition sponsored by SpaceX about the future of public transportation. The transition of these programs will also free up needed space for other programs at ORU.”
ORU says the facility will provide the space needed for ORU’s Online enrollment team, which it says is still growing, as well as new offices and indoor practice facilities for the ORU golf team.
Because the building is across 81st street from the university, it will offer a shuttle throughout the day.
