The City of Tulsa started removing all remaining single space parking meters downtown to finish the transition to online payments and multi-space parking meters. The City already has only multi-space meters in the Tulsa Arts District.
City Of Tulsa Develops Plans For Parking Meters
A handful of remaining, but obsolete multi-space meters south of Archer Street will be removed as well. New multi-space meters will be installed as replacements. The City said the work will take three to four weeks.
The City uses the ParkMobile App for online parking payments and all of the new multi-space meters accept credit cards.
The City has also changed policy to pay for parking system improvements out of payments received, to ensure the system will be maintained going forward.
On-street metered parking downtown costs $1 per hour, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is free other hours.
