My 2 Cents: Should The U.S. Forgive Woman Who Joined ISIS?

Should the United States show forgiveness to Hoda Muthana?

At age 20, Muthana packed up without her parents’ knowledge, and left Birmingham, Alabama for Syria to become an ISIS bride.

Once there, she tweeted out messages encouraging Americans to kill each other. But now that ISIS is on-the-run, so is Muthana. She and her 18-month-old child, fathered by an ISIS fighter who's been killed, are stuck in a refugee camp in Syria.

Now, she wants to return to the U.S., and her supporters say she has a right to come home.

They claim she is a U.S. citizen because she was born to a father who was here as a Yemeni diplomat.

President Trump and the State Department have ordered her to stay out of the country she tried to tear down.

You can't let somebody who married bloodthirsty terrorists and had a child with a killer whose comrades celebrated beheadings on the internet. Would you feel safe with her living next door to your family?

I sure wouldn't.

Her terrible choices have left her in a refugee camp and her parents bear some responsibility too. If she wants out, they're the ones who need to help her and find her a place to live, outside of the US.
