A former Sooner football player is proving to have an eye for design and farmhouse style.
Jaxon Uhles started his furniture building company, 44 Design Co., after graduating from OU this year.
He got his start after shopping for a coffee table while in school.
“All the cool ones were pretty expensive,” remembers Uhles.
Without much training, Uhles built one himself.
His roommate at the time, Baker Mayfield, posted a picture on Instagram of Uhles’ work.
“It took off,” says Uhles.
Soon, fellow teammates were placing orders for Uhles’ custom designs.
The OU student said he had to hold off the business until after graduation, but now it’s his full-time job.
Former Sooner and current Washington Redskin’s RB Samaje Perine and his wife are Uhles’ best customers.
He’s currently working on an entertainment center for current Cincinnati Bengal Jordan Evans.
The former fullback plans to send Baker Mayfield a table after he settles down in his new home in Cleveland.
“It’s been a great Journey and to have all those guys support me has been awesome,” says Uhles.
