Officials are investigating an officer-involved shooting Tuesday evening in Moore.
According to officials, the shooting took place just after 8 p.m. at a 7-Eleven near SW 4th Street and South Telephone Road.
Officers initially arrived to serve a felony warrant to Brian Richardson when he reportedly pulled out a knife and was shot, officials said.
Officers say the warrant was for aggravated possession of child pornography.
Police said while there were several officers on scene at the time of the shooting, only one officer shot at Richardson.
"Anytime it's a felony warrant you're going to approach with caution. There were several officers there attempting to serve the warrant," said Moore police Sgt. Jeremy Lewis.
Richardson was taken to the hospital in serious condition, according to officials.
The officer involved in the shooting was identified as Lt. Chris Maddocks. He is a 21-year veteran of the department who was assigned to the evening shift and was the on-duty supervisor during the incident, Lewis said.
Maddocks was placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.
