Neighbors in Northeast OKC said they've been left in the dark over a proposed development.
The Oklahoma Commissioners of the Land Office wants to rezone and develop the area near Lincoln and Northeast 50th. Plans for the 140 acres call for upscale restaurants, retail and housing.
The first proposal for the development came about two and half years ago. But, homeowners said only after they hired an attorney, did they start getting details on the proposed project.
“It’s not our quote elected officials that are in charge of this,” said Joe Clydus, who lives near the site of the proposed project.
“It is my belief that the Oklahoma Land Commission did not realize the impact it would have on the surrounding area up until recently,” said OKC City Councilman John Pettis, who thought the original plan was too much for the area.
The attorney for the CLO said he’ll present new plans to the planning commission in June.
