Some shoppers at the Smart Saver grocery store off NE 23rd Tuesday afternoon were confronted by Oklahoma City Police.
They weren’t really accosted, the two officers actually handed those shoppers hundred-dollar Smart Saver gift cards, and only asked for a hug in return. The police department says it was just a small way to give back. Loc Ngyuen was one of the two officers who handed out the gift cards.
“Being an officer, you are dealing with a lot of things that are difficult in a very compressed time frame,” he said.
"And coming out and helping people, and seeing the reaction, it makes a difference, it helps you, it just makes you more motivated to go out and make a difference in people’s lives.”
Oklahoma City’s Fraternal Order of Police and Smart Saver sponsored the giveaway.
