Jordan Woodard led the way with 16 points and Rashard Odomes added 13 as the Sooners shrugged off a sluggish start to top Abilene Christian 72-64 on Friday.
The Wildcats led 15-5 after the first seven minutes and were up 30-26 at halftime before Oklahoma took over and made a concerted effort to get to the free throw line. The Sooners attempted 46 foul shots to Abilene Christian’s 19 and made 20 more than the Wildcats.
OU improved to 4-1 on the season. Woodard’s game included four rebounds and three steals as he recorded his fifth-straight game of double-digit scoring. Khadeem Lattin just missed a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.
Abilene Christian was led by Jaylen Franklin’s 11 points and Jaren Lewis’ eight points, 12 rebounds.
Up next for the Sooners is Northern Colorado, which comes to Norman on Tuesday.
