Good Samaritan, Humane Society Rescue German Shepherd Hit By Car

The Central Oklahoma Humane Society is asking for the public’s help to save a German Shepherd found injured after being hit by a car.

According to the Humane Society, a Good Samaritan found 11-month-old “Honey” lying in a driveway. She was unable to move after being hit by a car. Officials said she will need hip surgery and many months of physical therapy and care.

Currently, Honey has many severe fractures, dislocations, and nerve damage. Officials said she cannot have surgery until her severe fractures heal.The organization’s medical team and Honey’s caring foster are working on pain management in preparation for the surgery.

The Humane Society’s “Rita’s Angel Fund” helps save dogs and cats like Honey who need extra medical attention.  However, officials said recently, Rita's Angel Fund has taken quite the hit with multiple pets including 11 dogs saved from a hoarding situation about two weeks ago.
