A Moore middle schooler was arrested after allegedly bringing a knife to school on Tuesday, school officials tell News 9.
A letter was sent home to parents with students at Highland East Junior High after a male student, who has not yet been identified, brought the knife onto school grounds.
A school official tells News 9 the student allegedly threatened another student, but did not say if the knife was pulled out during the altercation. No one was injured.
Highland East Junior High principal Mark Archer issued the following statement in the letter sent home to parents:
“Today, it was discovered that a student was in possession of a knife while at school. Moore Public School officials and Moore Police Department were contacted and school district policy and procedures were followed.
As always, Highland East staff will take all matters regarding physical safety and emotional security of our students and staff seriously.”
