Oklahomans Head To Louisiana To Help Flood Victims

A group of Oklahomans is headed to Louisiana to help flood victims. Rivers are still rising in the southern part of the state, threatening more homes.

The danger is far from over for parts of flood-ravaged Louisiana. At least seven people have been killed and more than 20 thousand people rescued since the flooding began Friday.

Southern Baptist Disaster Relief in Oklahoma is sending help to flood victims in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The relief organization will send 60 volunteers, a large feeding unit, and a shower unit, which will be based at a church in Baton Rouge. The feeding unit has the capability of providing 30,000 meals each day.

The Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) is collecting donations for Louisiana. It's one of several groups asked to help hospitals in immediate need for blood.
