Accidental Shooting At El Reno Gun Range Leaves One Hospitalized

An accidental shooting at an El Reno gun range has left one person in critical condition, Canadian County officials said Saturday night.

The incident happened Saturday afternoon at the Canadian Valley gun range, 7400 Jensen Road E. Investigators said two men who did not know each other were involved in the incident.

The victim was shot below his stomach and was taken to OU Medical Center via medical helicopter.

The victim was identified as Jason Eugene Billen, 38, of Oklahoma City. He is in critical condition and is out of surgery.

The shooter was identified as David Michael Claypool, of Oklahoma City.
