Two "Black Lives Matter" events are scheduled for Saturday, July 9 and Sunday, July 10 in Oklahoma City.
The first event, a "Black Lives Matter" photo shoot, will be held Saturday at 8 p.m., at Lake Hefner and the second one, a "Black Lives Matter" rally will be held Sunday at 5:30 p.m., at the Harkins Bricktown Theater.
Organizers posted on Facebook and emphasized this is a "peaceful memorial vigil in honor of the men that lost their lives at the hands of law enforcement." It goes on to say it is a protest following the national outrage over the deaths of two black men shot by police and both have video evidence.
A Facebook live video recorded by Lavisha Reynolds after her boyfriend Philando Castile was shot by a police officer in Minnesota. It shows Castile bleeding while in the passenger seat, Reynolds remains calm, and her 4-year-old daughter in the backseat. This video was shared more than 300,000 times. The other video is of the death of Alton Sterling at a Baton Rouge Louisiana convenience store.
According to Facebook, Sunday's event will be attended by 2000 people.

Two different groups are organizing the events and say they have a permit to protest and insist this be peaceful so their message is heard.
