OKC Police: "Suspicious Device' At ME's Office Was Side Airbag Injector

Oklahoma City police confirmed that a suspicious device on a body that prompted the evacuation of the Medical Examiner’s office on Friday, July 1 was a side airbag injector.

According to police, investigators from the Oklahoma City Police Bomb Squad have determined that the device was a Chevy sonic side airbag injector.  Simply put, it is a high pressure canister that rapidly inflates the side airbag in a crash.   

The evacuation was made after an employee found the device on the body of a suicide victim.
