Oklahoma City Animal Welfare reports a surge in homeless cats at the shelter.

In the last week, officials said more than 220 cats and kittens were brought to the facility and are now in need of a home.

In order to help reduce pet overpopulation and find placement for the animals, the shelter is holding ‘Meowapalooza’ during the month of June.

Adult cats are free to adopt this month, and kittens under 6 months old may be adopted for the discounted rate of $30.

Call (405) 297-3100 or visit Oklahoma City Animal Welfare's website for more information.
