In about three weeks, thousands will take to the streets of Stillwater to remember the ten people associated with OSU's basketball program who were killed in a plane crash in 2001.
On April 16, the 10th annual “Remember The Ten” run will be held in Stillwater.
News 9 Sports Director Bill Teegins was one of those who lost his life.
“Sudden grief is tough,” said Bill’s Widow Janis Teegins about overcoming the tragedy.
“I couldn’t do it myself,” added Teegins.

That’s why the run means so much to Janis and her family. Money raised during the event goes to OSU’s counseling service.
She credits counseling with helping her understand the true spirit of the run for her family.
“It's definitely a celebration of joy that he brought to us and the time we are blessed to have with him,” said Teegins.
Bill’s 85-year-old dad is also coming in town to participate, along with other family members from out of state.

The family said at the end of the run, they’ll toast Bill by eating the chocolate pie from Johnnies that he loved.
And this year Team Teegins gets bigger.
Bill’s daughter Amanda welcomes a baby boy in June.
“We're hoping this grandson will have a glimmer from Bill’s eye or a dimple when he smiles. His personality, that would be fun,” said Teegins.
This year’s run will also feature new metals for participants marking the 10th anniversary.
“We had fairly modest expectation,” said Remember the 10 Run Founder Kerry Alexander about the first run.
“We had no idea it would become part of OSU culture,” added Alexander.
