Condolences continue to pour in from the business community, including American Energy Partners, which was the latest energy company founded by Aubrey McClendon. The company today discussed what's next.

In the wake of McClendon's death, AEP says it will put on a strong face moving forward, but there still are considerable questions about the future.

Less than 12 hours before his SUV crashed into a bridge just south of Arcadia, American Energy Partners CEO Aubrey McClendon sent an email to his entire company Tuesday night, saying he would continue his work.

In the email obtained by News9, McClendon took aim at the Department of Justice, saying, "Our business will continue to be successful despite these wrongful accusations." he also said he would continue to work during the investigation saying "I will continue to focus on new oil and gas businesses."

In a statement, AEP said the company is saddened by the loss of their CEO but said, "Aubrey would want us to persevere and continue his extraordinary legacy of innovation and creativity."

McClendon was indicted for allegedly breaking anti-trust laws. On Thursday the Justice Department said it will ask to dismiss that indictment. He was also investigated in 2010 while the CEO of Chesapeake Energy for similar wrongdoings.

Chesapeake later forced him out, and Thursday on Wall Street, that company's stock spiked nearly 20 percent.
