Oklahoma Bureau Of Narcotics Undercovers Large Drug Network In Metro Area

State agents are learning more about a large drug trafficking operation in Oklahoma. Thursday, February 18, undercover agents made a large drug raid in the metro.

The agents’ faces are blurred, but what they found is in plain view.

“They’re taking these bulk quantity shipments of meth, cocaine, marijuana and even large quantities of prescription drugs and breaking them down into smaller street level packages, and they they’re moving them onto the streets of Oklahoma City,” Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics spokesperson Mark Woodward said.

OBN does not want to share too many details and jeopardize the case.

“Sometimes these can take a couple of weeks, other times two or three years, but ultimately you throw a big net over an entire organized crime network,” Woodward said.

It is often the case in large busts like this one. A similar raid happened just a few months back in Anadarko. The town’s biggest distributor led authorities to one of the main suppliers in southern Oklahoma.

“I don’t distribute meth,” the suspect said. “I’m a businessman.”

His case is headed to trial and uncovering many others along the way.

“A lot of times we ultimately identify a source out of state,” Woodward said.

However, while the identities of the undercover agents are top secret, authorities want to everyone to know what their efforts do.

“We want people to see that Oklahoma aggressively goes after these particular kinds of groups, and we’re not going to let them get a foothold in a community,” Woodward said.
