Oklahoma Sports Hall Of Fame Announces 2016 Inductees

The 2016 Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame class includes the most decorated pro angler of all time, Jimmy Houston; former OU and NFL linebacker, “The Boz” Brian Bosworth; American Professional Golfer, Scott Verplank;  World Record Holder in the Pole Vault, Joe Dial; and being inducted posthumously are Sportscaster, Bob Barry, Jr.; and former OU and NFL fullback, Leon Heath.

“We are honored to be inducting these individuals into the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame,” said Eddie Griffin, President of The Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame/JTA.  “This year’s inductees are respected citizens and athletes; a remarkable group of champions representing track & field, fishing, golf, contributing and football. All have record-setting careers.  This induction group truly represents how great the state of Oklahoma is.”

The Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame 2016 Induction Ceremony and Banquet will be held on August 1, 2016 at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.
