Young will continue to be held without bond on the first-degree murder charge.
An affidavit states Young’s step-daughter, Elizabeth, suffered internal injuries. It also states the Medical Examiner doctors found two bruises on the back of her scalp, and they appeared to be fresh, but ruled the main trauma was to the 2-year-old’s abdomen.
A pretrial conference will take place next week between the lawyers. Young is being represented by a public defender.
