Oklahoma City rode two big innings and a 15-hit barrage to take down Omaha on Monday night, 12-4.
The Dodgers have made a living on home runs the past few weeks, but didn’t hit a single one in the rout of the Storm Chasers. Everyone in the lineup collected at least one hit, led by Chris Heisey and Shawn Zarraga, who each went 3-for-5.
OKC took advantage of run-scoring opportunities, going a solid 7-for-19 with runners in scoring position.
And while the Dodgers piled up the runs, Zach Lee was stellar on the mound, giving up four hits and two runs over seven strong innings. He also struck out five to move to 7-3 this season with a 2.36 ERA. Clayton Mortensen took the loss after giving up five runs in four innings.
The Dodgers opened the game up in the third inning by scoring four runs in the frame to take a 5-0 lead. With the game 7-2 in the eighth inning, OKC rolled up five more runs to put the game out of reach.
The two teams are back at it again on Tuesday, with a doubleheader beginning at 5:05 p.m.
