Yahoo! Sports is reporting that former New Orleans Pelicans coach Monty Williams has agreed to join Billy Donovan's staff in Oklahoma City.
Williams coached the Pelicans to a 45-37 record and the No. 8 spot in the Western Conference Playoffs this season. However, Williams was fired by the organization after a first-round sweep at the hands of the Golden State Warriors.
Yahoo! Reports that Donovan will keep assistants Mark Bryant and Darko Rajakovic on staff, both of whom coached for Scott Brooks. Williams has assistant coaching experience, most notably as a member of Mike Krzyzewski's staff with Team USA. Williams also played for nine seasons in the NBA.
