Voters in Guthrie passed a $16.2 million school bond, the first such bond to be passed in over a decade.
The money will go toward building a new elementary school and give five other schools desperately needed renovations.

When it was all said and done, 77 percent voted ‘Yes' for the bond, easily surpassing the 60 percent minimum for all school bonds.
Guthrie had failed to pass eight of the last 10 bond issues, according to Guthrie Superintendent Mike Simpson.
