Police in Stillwater are looking in to bogus bomb threat found scrawled on a bathroom wall at the junior high school on Monday.

Several students reported to school officials after finding the threat just before 2 p.m. on Monday. The school then initiated their “Shelter-In-Place” response plan for such threats.

School staff and officers with Stillwater police conducted a preliminary search before contacting an explosive detection service and the OHP bomb squad, who together used an explosive detection machine and a bomb-sniffing dog. Nothing was found and officials do not believe the threat was credible.

Investigators believe the message was meant as a copycat to a similar bomb threat that was made at Stillwater Middle School on April 8.

Anyone with any information about the Stillwater Middle School or Stillwater Junior High School bomb threats is asked to call the Stillwater Police Department at (405) 372-4171. Making a bomb threat is a felony offense.
