A pedestrian is in critical condition after being hit by a car in Norman, Oklahoma, early Monday morning.
According to Norman police, just before 3:30 a.m., emergency crews responded to the report of a collision in the 400 block of E. Tecumseh Road.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a pedestrian was standing in the middle of road in the inside lane. A vehicle traveling eastbound on Tecumseh Road from Porter Ave. then struck the pedestrian in the roadway.
Police said the driver involved in the collision was not injured and released from the scene. The pedestrian was transported by EMSSTAT to OU Medical Center due to injuries sustained from the collision.
Police have not identified anyone involved in the collision. The crash remains under investigation by the Norman/OU Police Collision Investigation Reconstruction Team (CIRT).
Tecumseh Road was closed between Porter Avenue and N.E. 12th Avenue for approximately two hours but is now back open.
