The suspect involved in an armed standoff with McClain County Sheriff's deputies at an RV dealership near Purcell is now in custody.
The identity of the suspect has not been released at this time. The woman was transported to a mental hospital for evaluation after the incident early Wednesday afternoon. Officials say the woman is in police custody but has not been arrested at this time.
It all started shortly after 1 p.m. when, according to the sheriff's office, the woman, armed with a rifle and a handgun, fired shots in an office building at Sooner RV and at a car, before hiding out inside. No one was injured during the standoff, and all the employees were safe and accounted for.
Purcell police officers, Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers and officers with the Norman Police Department all assisted the deputies. A Norman police negotiator is credited for talking with the woman and bringing the situation to a peaceful conclusion.
The standoff lasted nearly three hours. News 9 is told that the suspect is a part owner of the business.
No other details have been released at this time.
