The Oklahoma City Zoo's five-week-old African wild dog pups, all weighing approximately 6 lbs., now have names.
The Zoo and Botanical Garden's animal care team selected the following names to pay tribute to their golden retriever, surrogate mom, Lilly, and their African heritage.

The puppies , one male and two females, are named Maji (meaning water lily), Ayana (meaning beautiful flower), and Zahra (meaning flowering).
All of the puppies are weaned including Lilly's offspring, an 11 lb. female referred to as Uno. Lilly and Uno will be staying at the Zoo for another week as Lilly teaches “dog etiquette 101” to all of the puppies.
Also, the puppies are spending time with their adult pack as weather permits.
You can continue to follow their journey on the Zoo's Facebook and Twitter.
