The Oklahoma women's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season on Thursday, falling to South Florida, 83-68, at the Paradise Jam Tournament in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The Sooners struggled from the field, shooting just 38.6 percent for the game after scoring over 100 points in each of their last two games against Lamar and Bradley.
Sharane Campbell led Oklahoma with 16 points and LaNesia Williams had 14 points off the bench. Those were the only two OU players in double figures. The Sooners were a solid 10-of-23 from 3-point range, but went just 4-of-12 from the free throw line while the Bulls were 24-of-31.
USF led for all but 48 seconds and shot 46 percent from the field and crushed the Sooners on the glass, 51-29. In fact, the Bulls had more offensive rebounds (18) than the Sooners had defensive rebounds (16). That led to a 21-9 advantage for South Florida in second chance points.
Courtney Williams led the Bulls with 27 points and Alisia Jenkins had 21 points and 11 rebounds on a 7-of-8 performance from the field.
Oklahoma continues play in the tournament when it takes on No. 9 Kentucky at 5 pm. CT on Friday.
