A Texas man has been found not guilty in the 2008 shooting death of an Oklahoman in Beckham County.

Gordon Splinter II was arrested in March, 2013 at his home in Amarillo, Texas, on a first-degree murder warrant for the shooting death of 35-year-old Michael Smith.

Smith was found shot to death outside his home in Erick, Oklahoma back in April, 2008.  OSBI agents said they found witnesses who said Splinter was seen running from the area where Smith was shot.
