Oklahoma incoming freshman and former Jenks star Steven Parker was arrested on early Sunday morning on a public intoxication complaint, according to the Cleveland County Sheriff's office.
Parker, a consensus four-star safety prospect, was arrested by Norman police and booked just after 3 a.m. He was released just after 10 a.m. Sunday.
Parker was the No. 1 overall prospect in the state in the 2014 class and picked the Sooners over Auburn and Texas A&M, among others.
An OU spokesman confirmed that the Sooner football program is aware of the situation and will handle it internally.
Parker issued this apology on Twitter: "Sorry to everybody who trusted in me. I will bounce back from this and be somebody who is much better. Mistakes happen, but that's no excuse."
We will update this story as more information becomes available.
