Authorities say a man brought drugs to the Oklahoma County Jail after he was arrested in Oklahoma City for driving under the influence of alcohol with a child in his vehicle.
According to the Oklahoma County Sheriff's office, at about 10:40 p.m. Saturday, a deputy pulled over an SUV that crossed the center line on S.W. 29th Street near S. Kentucky Avenue.
The deputy said when he spoke with the driver, 32-year-old Bernadino Ghelfi, he could smell alcohol coming from Ghelfi's person and from inside his vehicle.
The deputy said Ghelfi appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. A Breathalyzer test measured Ghelfi's BAC at more than twice the legal limit of .08.
Inside Ghelfi's SUV, the deputy found a 12-year-old child who was later released to family members.
Ghelfi was arrested and taken to the Oklahoma County Jail. After he was booked into the jail, authorities said they found a plastic baggie with a white powdery substance in Ghelfi's possession.
Ghelfi faces several charges, including DUI with a child in the vehicle, child endangerment, driving with revoked license, left of center, and possession of drugs in jail. His bond has been set at $19,500.
