Bethany Man Accused Of Beating Daughter For Kissing Boy

Bethany police arrested a man who is accused of beating his teenage daughter with a belt after she was caught kissing a boy.

The 15-year-old victim told police that on Wednesday, April 23, her father, 42-year-old Derek Leonard, was called to the Bethany High School after she was caught kissing a boy.

The victim said Leonard punched her in the arm when they were in the car. When they returned home, the victim claimed that Leonard became very angry and began hitting her with a belt.

Officers say they observed bruises on the victim's body.

Leonard admitted to hitting the victim with a belt. He was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on child abuse charges.
