OSU's Smart Named All-District

Oklahoma State sophomore Marcus Smart has been named a member of the All-District VI team by the United States Basketball Writers Association.

Oklahoma State sophomore Marcus Smart has been named a member of the All-District VI team by the United States Basketball Writers Association, it was announced Tuesday. It is the second such honor for Smart.

Smart is the seventh Cowboy to receive USBWA All-District honors on multiple occasions, and the first since James Anderson in 2009-10. Other multiple All-District selections from OSU are: Richard Dumas (1988-89), Byron Houston (1989-90-91-92), Bryant Reeves (1993-94-95), Adrian Peterson (1998-99), John Lucas (2004-05). Houston (1991), Lucas (2004) and Anderson (2010) were all named the district Player of the Year.

Smart and the rest of the Cowboys will face Texas Tech in the first round of the 2014 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship on Wednesday night inside the Sprint Center in Kansas City. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
