The Oklahoma women's basketball team suffered a blow to its NCAA tournament hopes on Saturday, falling on the road to TCU, 76-66.
Oklahoma committed a season-high 26 turnovers that turned into 23 TCU points. The Sooners also shot a season-low 11 free throw attempts, making eight. Meanwhile, the Horned Frogs were 18-of-23 from the charity stripe.
Aaryn Ellenberg led the Sooners in scoring with 26 points on 10-of-19 shooting, including 5-of-9 from 3-point range. Morgan Hook had 17 points, but Sharane Campbell was the only other player with more than five points, finishing with nine points off the bench.
Zahna Medley led the Horned Frogs with 22 points. Natalie Ventress had 20 and Veja Hamilton came off the bench to score 16 points. TCU shot 50 percent for the game, including a sizzling 69.2 percent in the second half.
Oklahoma trailed 22-19 at halftime, as neither team shot more than 33 percent in the first 20 minutes. The Horned Frogs led by as many as 17 in the second half.
The Sooners close the regular season at 7 p.m. on Monday night against Texas Tech in Norman.
