The House Speaker wants to add a privately funded chapel to the Oklahoma State Capitol. I say it's okay but unnecessary. Here's what you had to say:
Gerald first:
"We need it there, but getting the people to use it that's another story."
Sean says:
"If said chapel isn't forced on others and used for all religions."
From Jessica:
"If there is not going to be a cost involved to taxpayers and it's non-denominational (like you see in many hospitals and airports) then I don't see the harm."
Eric sees harm though:
"The very idea smacks of a political move to score points with Christian voters who don't understand the U.S. Constitution."
Dede writes:
"God is already there, whether or not a chapel is."
From Jed:
"Lawmakers need to pray over their decisions...Sets a great example for our nation.."
John argues:
"We could just follow the law and keep religion out of our Capitol Building. You're right, the legislators can pray anywhere."
Shelly says:
"..maybe it will inspire our law makers to ask God to lead them in the right direction it certainly can't hurt."
Finally from Tamara:
"..let them find guidance on their own time. There are more important things to be dealt with at our capitol than a chapel."
I'm Kelly Ogle and that's YOUR 2 Cents.
