Million Dollar Bond Set For Suspect Who Stabbed Minco Police Officer

A $1-million bond has been set for the man accused of stabbing a Minco Police Officer near Tuttle on Tuesday.

According to law enforcement, a mental patient called the Grady County Sheriff's Office claiming he was the Anti-Christ and going to burn his house down with his family inside. A Minco Police officer called and offered to assist deputies on the call.

The officer, Minco Police Captain Brian Hau, made contact with the suspect, Russell Mason. According to the sheriff's department, the suspect attacked Hau with a knife, stabbing him twice, once in the shoulder and once in the back of the head.

Hau attempted to use a Taser on Mason but it didn't work, so he opened fire on him, hitting him in the leg. Deputies arrived on scene soon after and arrested the suspect.

Hau and the suspect both suffered non-life threatening injuries. Mason is being held in the Grady County Jail, pending formal charges.
