Oklahoma State's women's basketball team improved to 2-0 on the season after rolling past UT Arlington, 74-35, on Sunday in front of 2,280 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
The victory was the 26th consecutive for OSU at home in non-conference action.
The Cowgirls jumped on the Mavericks (0-2) early, scoring 27 of the game's first 32 points. Defensively, OSU held UTA in check, allowing just seven field goals in the period and holding the Mavs in single digits until the five-minute mark.
The second half saw more of the same defensively for OSU with the Cowgirls limiting UTA to a 17-percent shooting effort and 12 points over the final 20 minutes.
Sophomore Brittney Martin led the way for OSU, scoring 16 points on an 8-of-16 shooting performance.
Martin was joined in double figures by senior Tiffany Bias (14 points), junior LaShawn Jones, (12 points) and senior Kendra Suttles (10 points).
Jones added a game-high 11 rebounds en route to her first career double-double.
Bias added nine assists and six steals in just 30 minutes. With her six steals, she moved into third place on the school's all-time chart.
Briana Walker and Laila Suleiman paced UTA with 11 points apiece.
The Cowgirls will be back in action on Nov. 16 when they host Northern Colorado at 12 p.m. in Stillwater.
