Thunder Waive Daniel Orton

The Thunder have waived fourth-year center Daniel Orton.

The addition and emergence of first-round draft pick Steven Adams likely paved the way for Orton's exit. Coupled with the returns of Kendrick Perkins and Hasheem Thabeet, there just wasn't an extra spot on the roster for the Bishop McGuinness and University of Kentucky product.

Orton was a first round selection in 2010 to Orlando but played in just 16 games (all in 2011-12) for the Magic. Last year Orton played on 13 occasions for the Thunder and averaged 2.5 points and 2 rebounds per game.

The Thunder roster now stands at 16.
