A student in the Guthrie Public School system has been diagnosed with Viral Meningitis, according to the Logan County Health Department.
School superintendent Mike Simpson sent out a letter to parents regarding the issue on Thursday. The identity of the student has not been released, in the letter though, Simpson says the diagnosis came from a student at Guthrie High School.

The condition of the student is not known at this time.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, Most viral meningitis cases in the United States, especially during the summer months, are caused by enteroviruses; however, only a small number of people with enterovirus infections actually develop meningitis.
