Police arrest a man accused of robbing a woman inside a Wal-Mart retail store in Enid.
James Allen Schulup, 34, was arrested Tuesday for allegedly robbing the 55-year-old woman, who was shopping in the shoe department of Wal-Mart located at 5505 W. Owen K. Garriott. According to police, Schulup grabbed the woman's wallet out of her shopping cart. She tried to grab the suspect, who pushed her down, causing some minor injuries. The victim screamed as the suspect ran off through the store.
Other shoppers heard the scream and started following the suspect. The suspect dropped the wallet in the store and took off to his truck in the parking lot. Witnesses reported the truck description to police, who later saw the vehicle in the area.
Police stopped Schulup, who was driving the truck. The truck was reported stolen in Guymon on Monday.
Police arrested Schulup on charges of robbery by force or fear, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of a firearm after a felony conviction and assault and battery. Shulup was transported to the Garfield County Detention Center where he is being held without bond.
